The Paris Electrical Engineering Laboratory (LGEP-Supélec) became the Group of Electrical Engineering - Paris (GeePs) on the 1st January 2015. It is a CentraleSupélec laboratory recognized by CNRS (UMR 8507), UPMC Sorbonne Universités and Université Paris-Sud (Université Paris-Saclay).
We develop our research activity within the Physics and Engineering of Electromagnetism department (PIEM department).
We develop innovative materials and devices for photonics. A strong point to mention here is the complete mastering of the whole “materials - devices - system” chain :
i) Elaboration and characterization of thin films of oxides (superconductors or semiconductors).
ii) Development of thermal detectors (bolometers, pyroelectric detectors) for the near and mid-infrared and the terahertz range (500 GHz to 10 THz).
iii) Infrared and THz imaging systems; design and test. Two types of imaging systems are investigated:
Towards conferences on Superconductivity and THz Science & Technology.
